Problem with speaker wiring

Postby lonesailor » Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:08 pm

I have an intermittent problem with the passenger side woofer speaker on my NA8. It decides to go silent periodically. It usually will come good, for a while at least, if I open the door wide and close it, but not always.I have checked continuity and signal(When it's working) all seem OK so I assume a short to earth. I have had the radio and the speaker out but can't get the wiring to move so that I can replace it. Does anybody know how to get access to this wiring so I can pull some new wire through?

I watched a video the other week that showed a connector on the car side underneath the boot in the door jam. You might need to de-pin it there?

I had exactly the same problem. In my case it was a loose fitting connector on one of the harness wires, at the speaker end.
