Nb8b door wiring to nb8a door wiring HELP NEEDED

Postby robmac85 » Sun Nov 13, 2016 9:19 pm

Hi everyone just want some help on the wiring loom inside nb8b door.

I bought a NB8B door to fit on my nb8a it fits externally and everything bolts up fine i changed the door lock so all thats fine. I noticed when changing the looms over that the nb8b has the power door locking motor thats part of latch mechanism. The nb8a has the power door locking motor up very high near the top of the door. Ive put the nb8a loom in and everything was ok until the power door locking motor plug. The plug on the nb8a loom is a 3 wire and the nb8b has a 5 wire plug on it.
I have the power windows to work but not the locking motor. I can get the passenger door to lock and unlock buy probing the plugs by there own but it only make the passenger door lock . I cant get the drivers door lock to work.

Has anyone on here actually converted the nb8b door loom into a NB8A and made everything work. I've read a heap of posts about its a straight swap but no one has ever said about the wiring loom.

Thanks for the help

Rob

The 8a central locking works using the old fashioned master/slave method.

The drivers door only senses if you're locking or unlocking, and the passenger then locks.
If you lock/unlock the passenger door the drivers one won't do anything.

From memory the 8B had remote central locking, which means the drivers door actually has a motor to lock it, which would be powered/triggered by the two extra wires.

Personally I'd just fit the 8A lock mechanism into the new door, but If that's not possible you can try to probe the 8b door and find which pins share the functions of the old 8a door, and leave the remaining two unused (no guarantee it will work though, depends if the 8b stuff sends the same electrical pulse as the 8a does)
