NB modern sound input

Postby Timotsc » Wed Mar 16, 2016 5:29 pm

I've been looking for a while for a way of easily playing podcasts and MP3's on my NB and have finally found a workable solution I am very happy with and would recommend - from http://www.dx.com/p/t10-1-5-lcd-bluetoo ... uj4KPA8arU

After purchasing about 5 different devices, this is the first unit that has a USB charger built in so I can charge the phone when this is taking up the only charger port in the car, is stiff enough so it doesn't droop when driving, is shaped in a way that doesn't impede driving and has Bluetooth, a card reader etc and is of reasonable sound quality.

I'm fairly tall and my knee hit the other units. The cigarette lighter plug on them shifted around so the unit would disconnect regularly and if they had a flex shaft they would drop quickly or a fixed shaft meant the design wasn't such that it fit well in the available space.

This unit isn't without its issues though. When the key is turned on it first says something about Bluetooth connection status which is annoying, also it does play the last track it played but not from the same place in the track. This is a big issue with a long podcast as you also can't fast forward what is playing. The LCD readout is also not so easy to read for me but overall, I thoroughly recommend this as a viable player.

my A$0.02:

I recently installed an EONON Android head unit in my SP23 and love it (apart from the boot time, which isn't really too bad at ~25 seconds).

EONON may not be up there with all the premium head units, but in an MX5 the sound quality isn't great anyway and with an Android interface you've got one "do-everything" device that takes up no cabin space and you don't need to have a bunch of disparate specialised gizmos cluttering up the cabin (space in an MX5 is something that needs to be considered).

EONON is also half the price of the tier-1 head units.

Funniest part is i'm not joking.

out of every car, and every stereo, that little tape adapter has been the most user friendly and reliable way to get MP3 into my cars.
