No idea.
Set it to the volt check setting, touch black to neg, red to positive (checking a car battery was charged, outside of the car)
2 seconds later the wires to the multimetre get really hot, smoke like mad, and at that point I dropped the thing.
Anyone else have these under the driver's seat??

Did you have it set to AC or DC? Not sure if being set wrong would make it get hot though.

Op, start the car to check it runs. Switch off. Un plug white connectors and again attempt to start. If it won't start you have a looped connection and are best to trace back the wires. Alarm wires are usually all black.
I removed a non working alarm as soon as I bought mine due to the massive amounts of messy wires under the steering column. I identified the factory wires that the alarm hooked up to. Disconnected the alarm and re attached the 2 factory wires to each other.
