na8 clubman headlight twitching???!

Hey guys ive got a na8 clubman and it seems like the past few days the pop up lghts have been twitching. It happened today mainly. As i was driving to my girlfriends house, everytime i indicate, the light pops up for a quick second and goes back down. Any idea what could cause this to happen? Its really annoying! Cheers.

It could possibly be the Headlight retractor (LA12) relay.

Check for corrosion or if possible, borrow/purchase one to troubleshoot whether that is the problem.

Other Mazda's around the same era (astina, 626 etc) could possibly use the same LA12 relay for a number of things, so worth a check.



Also, have a look for a relay under the dash, next to the indicator relay with the word 'retract' labelled on it.

Also might be the headlight/indicator stalk contacts - a few of the NA6s have suffered from this for a few years, & now that the NA8 is getting to a similar age & wear, it's possible this might be the problem in your case.

x2 with 93_clubman. The stalk is contacting the high-beam switch at the same time as the indicator.

Remove the two halves of the steering column black plastic cover below the steering wheel hub.
