Stubby aerial adapter for NA?

The telescopic ones are rubbish - the one in there now is broken, snapped off by some bogan. Many new cars don't have a telescopic one, they have little rubber ones. Change for the sake of change perhaps?
Talk to people instead of googling? What do you think is the reason for posting in a forum? Though others seem to think I should research and put in "SOME" effort. I can't win can I?

Hi YanMa YatTai, don't let the old timers who throw the ole "do some research" line at you put you off posting here, there's lots of us willing to help newer members out.

My NA has a rubber whip aerial on it and it works perfectly fine. I was considering changing to a stubby aerial as well but the consensus here seems to advise against it so i'll just stick to what I have.

Another bonus of this style aerial is you can adjust the angle of the rubber whip as well as unscrew it and use it to flog people who don't help you (just kidding )

If you don't like the look of any car aerials, why not try one of the many internal windscreen mount aerials.

They have a small box that houses a 12v signal amplifier that fits neatly behind the rearview mirror, with a virtually invisible reception strip that sticks along the top of the windscreen.

I fitted one of these many years ago to my Father in Law's Ford Falcon. He'd purchased it while OS but I have seen them locally around the place and I'm certain they would be available on ebay.

Maybe not quite as much reception compared to normal aerials once out of the Burbs, but it's very neat and won't be vandalised.

Now I think of it ... should have fitted one of these to my NA instead of ordering the stubby
