Folks,
I've just bought a Contour ROAM and will be aiming to record the in car action for my first track day out!
My Megasquirt with the Bluetooth connector and Android phone app is going to allow me to record all the typical telemetry such as;
Car Speed (klms)
Car Track GPS
Car 3-axis G Force
Engine RPM
Engine Throttle Position
Engine Coolant (water and air)
Engine Boost/Manifold vacuum
Engine Air/Fuel Ratio
+ many others I can't think of
I'm planning to use RaceRender to combine all this into a single video with overlay and I'm expecting it to be fairly awesome.
For under $1000 for all hardware and software, (phone excluded) that's a pretty economical solution (and the fact that 2/3 of that is the engine management system for the car anyway).
So, what is everyone else using or doing?

Re: Video and telemetry
I'm new to motorsport and even newer to data logging but my next track day i'm going to try using two different programs to record some data.
1. Racechrono (cheap android app)
2. Torque (also cheap android app)
I already have a HTC Desire phone, ELM 327 BT dongle (cheap) and Qstarz Q818XT ($80ish). I've been playing with this setup around the street and so far i have no issues.
I will try it out on the next track day and let you know how i go.
cheers
