Hi,
In my efforts to do good I have done bad.
While removing the standard radio in an NA8 to fix the spring that holds the hinged cover over the cassette hole, I broke a wire right at the white connector (rectangular shape plug with about 8 wires going into it) that plugs into the main socket at the back of the radio.
Is it possible to somehow take the plug apart to remove the particular pin that has the broken wire so that I can reconnect the wire to the pin and then put it back into the plug.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Regards
Michael

Re: How can I repair broken wire in radio input plug
I am not familiar with the plug in question but normally terminals/ wires are inserted into plugs after termination. The terminal usually has a sprag on it which retracts and snaps back after being inserted. You sometimes can retract the sprag with a shaped probe- ie small screwdriver etc and then pull it out. The next thing after removing it is to either attach a new terminal if you can get one or maybe solder it if you have enough wire still held in the crimp. It is even possible that you can re use the same terminal - inspection will tell you. Annoying when these things happen.

Thanks fellas,
The plug came apart and the metal pin came out relatively easily.

good news, hope it's all fixed now.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
