Hope someone can help.

Gotta ask....Why?
Seems like just another bit of clutter

THREAD RESURECTION!

OK, So where do you put aftermarket guages LEGALLY? Specifically on a NB8B

I know i can go down the road of a dual pod cluster on my a-piller, but that will attract any unwanted attention from the fuzz.

I dont want to take my stereo out and put in a single din unit (with the 3 guages underneath)

has anyone stuck it in front of the gear shifter, where your cigarette lighter goes?

if i must, i might make one out of Carbon Fibre, as i want oil and boost pressure (SE model)

i also want to retain the factory cigarette lighter too, so that will occupy that space too!

Hi dave2221,
I have put gauges in my NB8A 10AE model. Under my radio was a DIN space. I replaced that space with a 3 gauge holder I obtained from www.mx5parts.co.uk look under (interior/instruments) you can get a 2 gauge holder or a 3 gauge holder. They fit like a glove, but there is a bit of mucking about to get the DIN unit out. :NB8A:

thanks robbo, but i have the 6 stacker model, so i dont have a spare din unit.

i have been reading up on the NSW laws, and i think i can get at least 1 guage pod on the A-pillar.

The basic rules are as follows...

1. must not be in the line of vision
2. must not be able to hit your head.

i think one down low would be fine, as its pretty much ipossible to get your head down there, and it wouldnt be effecting your view of the road.

as for a double gauge cup, i think the 2nd gauge would fall under point 2..... as our pillars are pretty close to us.

Thoughts?
