Hey all,
I was just wondering if anyone on here knows of a wiring diagram or know what wires in the radio wiring harness do what in a 99 NB mx5. I have found the constant and accessories power supplies from a test light and the speaker wires. But with that there are 3 wires left over that i do not know what they do. Im thinking one is for the stock radio illumination, one to activate the antenna and unsure of what the other is for. Does this sound about right? ive done a fair few of after market head unit isntall and this is one is a bit different as i cant get a hold of a wiring diagram. If i cant find any info im thinking i might go to an aftermarket wiring harness. I have a new pioneer headunit which im in the progress of installing
If anyone can provide any info into this that would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Re: 99 NB Radio Wiring Help
I'll see what I can dig up.
I've got writing diagrams for the nb, but can't remember if it covered the radio.
I'LL see I can dig them up, if I find them I'll email you a copy.

Re: 99 NB Radio Wiring Help
Buy yourself a Mazda to ISO loom, and an ISO to whatever brand of headunit you are fitting. Much simpler and easier, plug in and you'll have the job done in a flash. Super Cheap keep them, and most car audio places will have them too.

Re: 99 NB Radio Wiring Help
found them, I couldn't check them to see what they had, so I sent them anyway.
I hope they're useful to you.
edit: checked, it mentons the radio etc, hopefully it's useful.

Re: 99 NB Radio Wiring Help
cheers for feedback on the help. Cheers for the wiring diagrams was extremely useful. It confirmed what i was thinking. I looked at the mazda to iso looms but the ones i saw had 2 of the white wiring harness connections where i have one in my car (dont know if that makes sense). Now that i know what wires do what im just gonna solder and wrap my pioneer harness to connector pins that will connect into the stock harness. That way if i wanna put the old radio in for resale purposes its pretty simple.
Much appreciated
