alarm keeps going off

Postby max5 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 4:30 pm

hey guys. i have searched extensively and can't find any solution to this. i recently had the battery disconnected and upon reconnecting the alarm went off. first time this has happened. i have disconnected and reconnected the battery again and alarm still sounds and immobiliser prevents the car from starting. i have a faulty remote control with new batteries which doesn't do anything. car is an nb8a.

are there any ways to disable the alarm or reset it?
any help much appreciated, thank you!

Try this - locate the alarm siren which is usually in the engine bay and use a key(which you should have one) to disable the siren. Then disconnect the battery, wait for 10 seconds and reconnect the battery again. Your emergency lights may come on after the battery reconnection but you can turn them off using the remote. If car starts then you're good to go, and enable the siren back on with the same said key. If you don't have a siren key, try and borrow one from someone as it's a generic key.

If you need a new remote key, have you seen this site http://newremotes.com.au/remotecontrols.html

They couldn't help me, I had to go to the manufacturer/installer and pay $295 for 2.
