Remapping the NC1 Computer??

I'm wondering if it is possible to upgrade the engine management system of an NC1 automatic to that of the NC2 automatic? And what the cost might be?

That would seem logical, particularly if they had a used model on their lot. But my experience of the crowd here is that they are only interested in selling new cars..
I hoped that someone on this forum might've had the computer in their NC1 "tweaked" in the same manner that Mazda did to their NC2.
