Sticky Speedo - any ideas?

Hi all,

my speedo has started doing a peak-hold function which is going to cost me my license if I'm not careful.
It won't drop back from the highest speed it's been seen until a lot later.
I think there's a spiral spring that does this job, but are they repairable or do I have to find a newy?

Any assistance appreciated.

Well the speedo started acting normally this week. Think it's just been the 40+ degree days that have caused it to play up.
Poor thing's getting old. Time to start thinking of something newer maybe.
Hmm... or spending some money updating the old girl... (the car that is, not Ms Davamb).

good to hear the speedo self corrected - suspect it would have been a pain to fix unless you replaced the entire unit.
