I have a 98 NB8A, although it does not matter what model you drive as the electric door locks work in the same manner. I would suggest asking the Jaycar Guru about using Diodes to prevent feedback into your electrical and electronics system, I had to completely remove my alarm system along with the door lock and window control system attached to it.
The previous owner or one of his mates wired the system by twisting wires together and placing electrical tape over the connections - of course the tape eventually comes off and I had weird things going on everywhere, you absolutely MUST use insulated crimp lugs and connectors as well as soldering all bare ends of wires and use tube shrink wrap to ensure 100% insulation.
Using Diodes will also ensure you have no issues with the alarm, door lock system etc feeding back into your cars electrical / electronic systems. (Diodes only permit Voltage to travel in one direction). Believe me - installing correctly the first time will save a lot of heartache later.

Oh that makes sense but what i was asking was if i buy a central locking kit without the actuators, can it be installed and function correctly, or do i need to install the actuators aswell?

Sorry don't know if they just put the actuators in by default (and don't wire them up), you'll have to look inside your doors. Someone like MX-5 Mania would probably know.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

You don't need to buy actuators - they are already installed in your doors.

Oh ok thankyou, well do you know what to connect the wires to? Is it that plug on the passenger side. Because i remember that setting off the lock when it was being earthed some time ago for testing purposes.
