Ah, that might explain why some manufacturers charge so much for a built in Sat nav system. I just assumed it was portable unit built into the dash.

All that stuff seems a little unnessesary but then it is a bmw and they tend to over engineer. Good work finding it all

All that stuff is aftermarket Kenwood stuff, not genuine BMW. With the attention to detail though I reckon it was a dealer fitted thing, pretty full on.
