12 volt outlet NB8A

Postby rogie » Wed Apr 09, 2008 3:22 pm

I want to tap into the rear of the 12 volt outlet to provide a second outlet for my GPS. Does the outlet just pull out?

I want to do this too...

Can anyone shed some light on the best way to wire it up? (which wires to where etc) Thanks in advance :)

Job done and it was easy.
Firstly remove the small tray next to te 12v outlet, it pulls out by the bottom lip.
Then remove the 12v outlet by twisting and pulling as it does have locating lugs.
The yellow wire is the positive, and simply solder extra wires to the yellow and black wires and run them back through the console to beneath the glove box.
BIAS boating have a nice under dash mounting twin outlet (part no. 8316)that screws up onto the steel rail beneath the glove box door.

hope this helps

Thanks rogie :)

So no problems with having a couple of devices plugged in at once? No blown fuses etc?

Cheers

a GPS or a phone charger (or both) plugged in won't draw anywhere NEAR what a cigarette lighter does Gerard, you'll be fine 8)
