NB8B factory cd player just stopped working.

Hi I have had my NB8B for about 6 months, it has a fatory headunit which I have attached a ipod adapter to.

The other day I switched on my car and the cd player and ipod adapter would not work. I can eject cd's and use the radio but cd's or my ipod won't work. The cd player was working fine when I switched the car off.

Does anyone have any idea what could have happened as I don't want to replace the headunit.

I saw something on Miata Net about this sort of thing. IIRC, try disconnecting the car battery (negative lead) for a minute or so, reconnect and see if the CD and/or Ipod works again.

No idea but if you know your security code try disconecting the IPOD adapter and then disconect that car battery. That will reset the unit. If you are lucky it's just got itself in a bit of a knot.

The workshop manual has a sequence of button presses to get into the diagnostic mode. But I dont have the manual with me.

richardD, i've had bad experiences with NB8B oem stereos. in fact, i've been through TWO of them. remove it from your centre console and burn it now.. BURN IT SON!!!
