How many mx-5 owners does it take to talk about changing a light bulb?

P.S. Which bulb are we talking about? There is well over 20 different bulbs in the car. :P

He (?) probably means the headlights.

But I have had trouble with getting to some of the globes for fear of breaking parts in the process. Side indicator and rear bulbs spring to mind.

If you can get to the globe, just take it out and head down to local autobahn/Mazda dealership with it in hand.

C'mon, it's half the fun of owning a car - heading out there and taking parts off it (breaking it, cursing for half an hour, driving around parts shops).

Doesn't need half a dozen forum members to offer opinions.

HB4's and H4's are totally different and not interchangable. The HB4 has a right angle connector, different base design and a single filament. H4's have a dual filament for high/low beam and are used in the NA and NB8A.

NB8B's have HB4's and HB5's from memory in the headlights. The SE's use a different type of bulb, not sure what though. H7's possibly?

Tailights in the NB8B are 20mm? wedge type

NB8B :

Headlight = HB4
foglight = H1

p.s. dont buy cheapo globes...they blow easily especially with harder suspension.

Narva +30 HB4's from repco or similar are awesome, much better than the standard low beams
