The road work on the Cambewarra Mountain road is pretty much complete.

I drove it last wednesday and the 40 zone was still in effect on the run down into Nowra, I am going again tomorrow and will check it out to see where they are with that.

The road surface is brand new bitumen. and it is fantastic to drive. Just watch out for the police, I have picked up a HP behind me every time I have done the mountain run for the last 3 months....every bloody time...

Ah, I remember it well. Great road! I lived in Nowra for many years, 1960s thru 90s and shared a house on Oxley Mtn (Bowral) with a few guys for six months (1969) what a blast! I recall I regularly did the trip from Nowra to Shiels Pub in Bowral in 50 minutes and 40 minutes when i'd had a few, quite a few. The steed then was a Cortina GT & later in the 80s a Falcon GT. Thanks for the advice re upgraded surface. I'll revisit when I'm down there again. Cheers
