The road is about 80 km and is a mixture of long sweeping corners, cattle grids mid corner, long sweeping corners that tighten up, up and over hills not to mention unfenced cattle areas and dips that soak up all available suspension travel. The unfenced areas are easy to spot by the fresh cow dung! Plus, the height in some areas of the grass, makes it difficult to scan ahead for what the road is doing next (lucky for me I had a bike rider that knows the road showing me the way)! Whilst the road is in the middle of nowhere for most MX5's in Queensland if you are up this way visiting the gemfields looking for an easy way to retire this road is well worth the drive.
All up it is a 400km round trip from Blackwater. However the pub in Clermont has nice simple food as well as locals that are only too happy to talk about strange looking cars and why are a motorbike rider and a car driver out together.
I will post a video of the fun parts of the road soon.
