not sure if anyone has heard of lamington park national rd in qld but its a wicked little drive its very long, twisty as hell and as a bonus has the rainforest skywalk at the end which is great to check out before you turn around and do it all again! a good drive to get there is up nebo down glorious (warmup ) and follow the signs to Canugra and you will see the rainforest skywalk turn off ... just a warning it starts off fairly straight but it gets really tight and alot of blind corners you have to really watch out for on coming traffic ...

Yep, I've heard of it - first went up there when I was 3 months old, and have been up there many times since, and before there was ever any bitumen on it and it was much narrower. It's now a wide open highway by comparison. The MX5 club QLD have done a few runs up there over the years too. It's a great drive, but it's far from a secret sorry mate Do it mid week to reduce the amount of traffic you encounter as there are plenty of tourist buses heading up and back on the weekends.

dont like it. to many potholes, crappy surfaces, buses, fwds. too well known tourist spot nowadays.

around the corner is beechmont. 10% of the cars and much better and faster corners.

Has anyone done this drive in the early morning? Say before 9am?
Last time my father and I went up to tamborine for a cruise day (Fathers day) we stopped off at Canungra to feed the beast and the lovely lady pointed us towards this road, but we couldn't find it (Her directions weren't very good.)

We were planning on doing the Kings way run in a few weeks time, so if we leave early enough I might give this a go.

I forgot the name of the road, but ill see if I can make up a map Ill start a nrw thread, and if people are keen we can make a day of it. (And ill finally meet people!)
