Yep, I've heard of it - first went up there when I was 3 months old, and have been up there many times since, and before there was ever any bitumen on it and it was much narrower. It's now a wide open highway by comparison. The MX5 club QLD have done a few runs up there over the years too. It's a great drive, but it's far from a secret sorry mate Do it mid week to reduce the amount of traffic you encounter as there are plenty of tourist buses heading up and back on the weekends.

dont like it. to many potholes, crappy surfaces, buses, fwds. too well known tourist spot nowadays.

around the corner is beechmont. 10% of the cars and much better and faster corners.

Has anyone done this drive in the early morning? Say before 9am?
Last time my father and I went up to tamborine for a cruise day (Fathers day) we stopped off at Canungra to feed the beast and the lovely lady pointed us towards this road, but we couldn't find it (Her directions weren't very good.)

We were planning on doing the Kings way run in a few weeks time, so if we leave early enough I might give this a go.
