Hi All,

I'm having a motorcycling weekend Oct 30 and am seeking suggestions, rather than "winging it" as I usually do.

I'm meeting my brother in law (+ more, not sure yet) in Gundagai as he's coming up from Melbourne and it is roughly the half way point.

He's very experienced on motorbikes, whereas I'm not so, I like twisties, but with a 250cc let's just say that I'm good at sweeping the road for stragglers

What roads would be nice heading towards the sea up the mountain there?

We're thinking of at the very least heading to Cooma through the Highway just south, but I though of going the Alpine way that Garry took us with the MX5s a couple of years ago, except I have NFI which roads were taken that time (we did get lost a few times )...

Recommendations as to routes (that can be remembered or stashed in jacket pocket) would be much appreciated.

Cooma is a great start.
AMCN use the Bombala/Cathcart area during some of their ride reviews and then usually end up in Tathra.
If you google these towns you will see some pretty sexy roads to traverse.
There is always Alpine Way from Jindabyne to Khancoban even though it has been a decade since I have been up riding that way but even back then the was all sealed.
And don't dismiss the power of the 250. In some of the tight stuff (read: Alpine Way) you will probably clean up a big bore bike if you can tap dance on the gear lever.
Sounds like an awesome riding weekend. I am quite envious!!
Be careful and be safe. And watch out for wildlife, especially dusk/dawn.
