I did the Lamington National Park road in the Subaru last week. I saw two MX5s and was dreaming of driving mine over the same road. Perfect MX5 country. What do you reckon Queenslanders???/

I think you're referring to the squiggly bits located to the west of GCDDHQ, you'll never get those guys interested in going out there :P :P :P :P

and I don't recommend going here and looking for "4 leaf clover run" as AJ hasn't put it up yet

Its not a bad road.

The blind corners and one way bits arent the best... Been on it a few times now..

One of the best :D My first time up that road was when I was 3 months old  Oh and O'Reilly's is great too  I remember when that road was all dirt, and "the cutting" was two way!

Do it on a weekday outside holiday season if you can - very few other vehicles then

I myself personally to not like the road. Traffic on it is terrible. 7km section that is 1 way only and the large 4wds and buses do not give way for anything, causing you to eat bushes and trees to get out of the way. Multiple potholes, blind corners, slow traffic, wide buses and many 1 way sections all equal a bad run. Last time up there was on a Wednesday very early morning (before 10am,) and it was still heavy traffic.

I'd prefer something like Maleny-Stanley River Rd (near Maleny) were there is still lots of windy sections, but broken up by longer straight sections where is it possible to pass slower traffic safely and easily.

If down Gold Coast way though, try Beechmont Rd or Nernag-MurwillumBah Rd. Much nicer roads I think. The latter is a good run if you stop for a walk at Natural Bridge.
