Jimna Rd .. ??

Postby Steampunk » Tue Oct 16, 2007 10:36 am

On the way to Landcruiser Mountain Park in Jimna, Queensland (approx 15km north of Kilcoy) there is a short but awesome snakey piece of bitumen.

I think the road is simply called Jimna Rd (please correct me if Im wrong) and it literally snakes (ie consistent radius corners, no straight bits) for about 2.5km

It's short but sweet. The surface is nice and smooth, due to the fact that it is a seldom used road, wide lanes, good on-camber around corners, and approx 4-5 degree incline.

You should see it when they have the rally sprints up there.... all the cars having a spirited drive up the mountain....

I can imagine that they can hold super-short time-trials there.
Bix, do you know if there are any other similar stretches of road around that area? It's off the D'aguilar Hway so I would think that it would be worth checkin out on the way home after a spirited run up Glorious and Nebo and taking the easy way home to Brisbane via Bruce Highway.

1. Woodford - Maleny by the main road or the Bellthorpe Range Rd diversion.
2. Woodford - Peachester - Landsborough
3. Woodford - Dayboro via Mt Mee

Cool. Been on a run all the way from Glorious to Maleny with Qld MX5 Car Club a few years ago. We hit a stretch of dirt road though for some reason :?
