Hi all,

Greetings from sunny, MX5-less Scotland.

But I did at least fianlly manage to get to an Imp National. My car got to one last year, but not me because I was still in Oz. This year it was in Scotland so I could get there even though the car is down in Devon and somewhat ill.

It was a really fantastic weekend, including
* Track Day at Knockhill
* Disco night
* Fancy Dress dinner
* Movies - track day and events
* Local tourist spots: Wallace Memorial, Stirling Castle
* Trader dispays
* and of course, car display and judging

I couldn't help comparing it with our Natmeet.

Cost to me: 10 pounds, plus about 90 for B&B and a few meals

There's a lot of differences, I know, but I just was very impressed with how they get 80% of the value at 20%of the cost. Well, 10%. Folks came from all over (about 20 from Holland, a particularly cheerful lot!) and everybody had an absolute ball.

Personally, I was thrilled and honoured to meet and chat with the Honorary Club Presidnet, Rosemary Smith, who won just about every Ladies Rallying prize going in the 60's in an Imp, and famously won the '66 Tulip outright in the unexpected snow.

Cheers!

Mike

...and has raced Targa Tasmania in an MX-5.
