Selling for a friend, these are a set (4) of wheels which I sold to him some years ago. However he is leaving our fraternity, and has no need for them.
My understanding is that these are from the automatic NB8A, they are exactly the same - almost - as the common or garden variety. The only difference is in the finish, these are a smooth finish, having no rough feel that the ordinary NB8A daisies have , presumably from the sand casting. I believe these are rare, certainly I have never seen another set, understandable as the autos were not big sellers AFAIK. Presumably, I believe that because whoever sold them to me, told me that .
If bling is your thing, you probably already have a set of the 10AE wheels. These are more subtle, and would suit someone who has an NB8A, is keeping it in good original nick, and would like something a bit better than the factory wheel. Having said that, I am selling these for someone else, and anyone who can stump up the ask can have them.
They are not perfect, there are some small marks, some very minor scuffing, but for 20 year old wheels, they scrub up nicely.
All four wheels, with stock rim for comparison
Close up of the grainy pattern on the stocker, with the auto wheel behind. While the auto wheel is not in focus, the different colour can be seen more clearly.
I have a stack more photos but I won't clutter up the thread with them, they can be found here, if these wheels are of interest to you.
$400, plus shipping if required.
PMs only please

Re: NB8A 'auto' wheels 15x6 (NSW)
Mazda parts Catalog lists the standard NB8A wheels as SILVER and the auto wheels as BUFF FINISH. It looks like they were the same casting but were given some additional finishing treatment, probably about halfway to the 10AE gloss finish.
I remember these used to turn up for sale every now and then years ago

Re: NB8A 'auto' wheels 15x6 (NSW)
Thanks manga, that is really useful information, as it confirms what I understood. Unfortunately, that was 'lore', but your confirmation and the memories of a couple others have turned that into hard information.
Interestingly, one person has said that he had them on an NB8B, from that I surmise that the auto NB8Bs must have come with the smaller NB8A brakes, as they would have needed spacers to fit the bigger 'sport brakes' that ADM manual NB8Bs came with. I have asked for a photo, but no response as yet.
Given autos are harder on brakes than manuals, you would have thought it would be the other way around, but I guess they thought the manuals would be dríven harder, a not-unreasonable assumption perhaps.
