NB8A, K&N intake (pod) vs Stock airbox

Postby Alex » Sun Nov 16, 2008 12:27 am

Well here it is, as you can see there is a bit more top end but that's just about it. No comment on the power reading.
Car was running on Caltex 98, 46000km, 6000km since last oil change, torsen diff (not that I think it matters)

90kw ! What else is done? exhaust?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

That's the crazy thing, nothing AFIAK
But then mmx005 only got 92 (I think) with exhaust, intake and ECU, same day same dyno.
That's why I'm waiting for the others to post up theirs to compare, it could be a high reading or my car is just an freak.

Edit: added other graph

Keep in mind that it's generally accepted that the Mania dyno is a little on the high side. However it's great for comparing cars relative to each other on the same day, which really is the whole point of the exercise.

Even if mania's dyno read high, it still would change the fact that alex's car is a freak of nature haha

Ben only pulled 92, and he also had exhaust and ECU...
