Still have plenty of grip and come up to temp well!!. Only thing is u need 8inch wheels as they are 220/225 profile.
But u can have them as i have 2 newer sets just sitting that will go off if they sit too long.
I watched your video chris and theres still alot of time in your car to find, Think by running slicks youl have the confidence to push harder. The other thing is you rev your car in 3rd when the 1.8 looses out around 7k. Ratios appear to be the same, just i dont rev mine all the way to 7500. Besides that u drive really smooth , Think you'd be a good co-driver for the 300races next year!!!
I think 1.10's is all a standard motor can muster around there!! A 6 speed might let it see high 9's.
As long as we get faster each weekend we go out were doing ok ;)
I'll need rims for them as I only have 1 set haha
I still find myself braking too early which is a shocking habbit and one I am trying to break! Even at the start of the races I back off well before you to keep some distance where I look at it now and think to myself WTF am I doing!
so where do you rev yours in 3rd to? did you have any in car footage? would be great to compare to.
Im up for a 300 race next year with ya!

Re: Lap times
Hi,
In 3rd i rev to about 7 after turn 2 shift to fourth before the left hander up the hill, (dont lift) then back to 3rd for the top section, 4th just before the right handed sweeper then 2nd for fish hook, 3rd then 4th before the corner on the back straight. Thats it. Basically i shift 4th and it seems to pull alot more than holding 3rd. 2nd however gets the 7500 limit.
Yeah, with slicks u always need a back up plan for rain lol. 2 sets mandatory.
No incar unfortunately, left it at home. I needed it too for the stewards in race one of tt after my little "incident". Next time ill make sure i have it

49.86 @ Marulan for my second time out in the NB. Standard apart from a seat and RE002's on 16x7 wheels. Would really like to be into the low 49s before I change anything else out. For what it's worth I got my fastest times when my 002's were at 35psi hot.

If you'd like a full day of coaching from experienced supersprinters and racers, the MX-5 Club of NSW is holding a driver training day at Marulan on 10th March. Cost is only $90 for members / $105 for non-members. Highly recommended!

Re: Lap times
1.12.0 at Wakefield today. Nb8b just had some lovin' from Deckspeed, collected it yesterday. At the FOSC practice day (official qualifying tomorrow morning, have to hope the tys hold it together for a few laps).
No, no turbo, cams, itb's, just the usual starting point mods. Will write up on my garage chat after the weekend.
Still feel like there is plenty in it, not used to different gear change points and tyres will be thrown out after this weekend.

Re: Lap times
Daniel Deckers borrowed my NC today and did a 1.06.9 on old slicks in the TT race.
I think this is a track record for a NC.

Looked like the car went great all day too Michael. There were a lot of other casualties for various reasons.
