Replacing overdue NC IMS tyre sealant

The IMS tyre sealant in my 2007 NC is dated 2010. I've heard the genuine Mazda replacement is very expensive and you may have to buy the whole kit. Can advice be given on best option please? Apologies if an answer already exists on forum but I've been unable to find anything.

Some options to consider. I just have the 8 piece tubeless tyre repair kit and use the original pump. Have used it in anger twice and it works perfectly. The repair lasted the remaining tyre life.

Fixaflat or Slime have goo type products to use instead of the original Mazda stuff.

Appreciate your advice thanks JBT. I note too there is a sealant product option in the current Repco sales catalogue

Have gone out and bought the SCA kit - I really like the goo free option and a good chance repair will last. Makes use of the original compressor too. Thanks again.

What that kit doesn't include, is a pair of pliers to pull a rogue nail from the tyre. Make sure to pack one in the boot, and a pair of gloves.

Mazda thought of everything and included pliers in the toolkit.
Gloves are over rated.

Ah, well there you go then! (not a 5 owner here, just a dreamer planning on getting one)

Those plugs do have a horrible tacky glue on them though, not nice to transfer onto the steering wheel.

I found the plugs/worms weren't too sticky but they certainly stick to the glue in the tube - which is the whole idea I suppose. I have at least three microfibres in the glovebox at all times though.

Having had a flat tyre on the NC, I found the tyre repair kit useless, the tyre was gashed by a small metal plate on the road. No plugs of Tyre goo was going to fix the damage!
The next day I purchased a RX8 Space Saver Mag Wheel, just fits in the boot, if you turn wheel upside down you can place goods in the dish of rim not loosing too much boot space.
I'm pondering on welding some mounts on bottom of boot to relocate the spare, may need to change the rear muffler.

Then you have to find a place to put the wheel and tyre you remove.

Oh...by the way make sure your wife or girl doesn't mind nursing the flat tyre on her lap..lol
Once Space Saver wheel is on the car, nooo way the flat is going to fit in the boot!
But
Better than being out at some isolated location with your OEM Tyre repair kit, finding damage is to severe to be repaired!
I'll take the Space Saver every time.

Maybe you'd be better off with run flats.
