Need to replace the suspension on mt NC

Folks,
My NC has need of new suspension as the coils have softened & shocks faded. Noticed significant bottoming out during my kast drive. So am on the hunt. Don't want race performance as its more of a weekend run car fir the missus & I.
Rung Pedders & they have a coil over kit, supplied, installed & whell align for $2229.
Any other recommendations?

Standard suspension on the car is easily adequate for normal fun use including cruising. It should last pretty high kms- I am guessing the car is north of 150K. Pedders would also do a check on the car rather than just saying replace it all- i.e. is it coils or shockers or both? Go to some other suspension people for a quote and also a local Mazda dealer and that way you get a spread of quotes.

For replacement MX5 suspension, generally avoid Mazda dealers & Pedders. Assuming below is still your area, then try some suspension specialists around there, or buy a set of coilovers & get them fitted by good mechanic, which code4 recommended in your last post. Other forumites are bound to chip in with suggestions for good coilovers for an NC.

If you're going to go adjustable (coilover), then get a price on Tein Flex Z.
Alternatively, look at prices for replacement dampers (Koni, Bilstein etc.) - your springs are probably OK unless you have >200,000 km on the car.

I second tein, certainly for replacing the standard shocks and having the possibility of setting to height that suits your need, or wants.... fairly straight forward swap, and should not cost a heap to get fitted ( 3 or 4 hours plus alignment)...
consider sway bars maybe too....

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I too would have expected the shocks/coils to last longer than the 45k kilometres on the clock.
I ended up calling Highfields & had a very interesting chat with one of the guys.
The recommendation was to avoid coilovers as I'm not doing any track work. The car is for weekend runs etc, so I don't need it to be a race car. Rather it remains as a snappy road cruiser with better handling & ride comfort.
The recommendation was to go with Koni shocks in the first instance & only need coils if warranted. Downside is a 6wk wait as there's nil stocks available. Not exactly cheap but know quality, good warranty & support, plus able to be rebuilt if there is any issue.

I’ve got a set of Bilsteins with Eibach springs up for $150. Read my build thread for some more details but as a daily with a bit of trackwork it’s an awesome set up. Only selling as I fitted a set of MCA reds which aren’t as good a road set up imho.
PM me if interested? I also have a set of oem shocks and springs also working perfectly for $50
