Are the U shaped front brake pad and M shaped rear pad anti rattle clips necessary to install?
I cant find where the little buggers have gone nor can I find a source locally to purchase some more.
Their only reason for being is to reduce brake pad rattle noise and my 5 will be a cacophony of mechanical music anyway so is it fine to leave the anti rattle clips off?

No not necessary.
I run mine without them, and apart from them clanging their heads off at slow speeds in the pits, have no issues.
