I have a 2.0L ND GT coming and will be using it for club track days.
Having dríven some ND's on track completely standard, I would say the standard front brake pads are not quite as good compared to what NC's came with. SO they will have to go.

Currently in the NC I was just using Carbotech AX6 up front and 1521 on the rear. No problems at all with that combo on a standard NC even whilst doing 1'12s around Wakefield Park. Also never had to worry about separate street and track pads like my SE with its XP12's.

I am a fan of Carbotech pads(No rotor changes at all on the NC) so mostly interested in them.
I know the rotors are only 10mm smaller on the front and the rears are the same compared to a NC. The car is lighter as well so there should be less stress on the brakes.

But are the pads any different in size, ND compared to NC?
Google is not helping me with that one.
I have compared NB8B and NC pads and they are actually the same size, just slightly different is shape.

I am considering the AX6 for the front and just using standard rears for now like I did with the NC at first, but just not sure the ND will be fine with those front pads.

What have people used so far for standard or mildly modified ND's on track?
Especially interested in feedback on Carbotechs.

Yeah. I just sort of fit right between the bolsters of any seat so end up further back and lower down than most people.
My dad is a tad taller than me, yet I have my seating position far more forward in any car compared to him.
ND has more headroom than my NBSE with standard seats. The SE with standard seats feels like I'm sitting on a bar stool. Only knee room seems to be less in the ND because of the dash design. Definitely smaller inside than an NC.

Well I have answered my original questions.

Pad size. They are smaller.
Yes 2.0L ND front pads are definitely smaller than NC and NB8B pads as illustrated in the picture I took below.
The friction material is about 10mm less in width and 8mm less in height.
New ND pads also have only 9mm of pad depth. I don't have new NB8B or NC pads at the moment but I'm sure they have more than 10mm.


Pad compound.
I obtained a used set of 2.0L ND pads(and a few other pieces like the 4 wheels) from a wreck with less than 20000km's. They had about 2/3rds thickness left, so about ~6mm.
After 3 club trackdays the pads are finished!!!
They worked better than I thought they would, I never had fade, just less bite than I am used to, but the wear rate is pathetic.
I even made some rather small 2 inch ducting utilising a modified 2nd set of brake dust shields to keep the brakes a tad cooler from the first trackday which is something I never did on the NC.
The right hand side pads went down to the backing plates and the left still had 2-3mm left.
Yes uneven wear and all because I have already had a failure.
The upper slide pins have a anti rattle/anti knockoff rubber on them as per most cars, but it is the smallest, flimsiest one I have ever seen.
I found that it had broken already on the right side calliper, hence the pads wearing more on the right.
The car has just over 2000km's on it, so I'm not impressed that this rubber broke. Not putting one back in either as it most likely not required just like NB8B and NC's can use plain pins.


So I think I still will go with Carbotech AX6 for now up front. Most track day people I have talked to seem to be on XP10 or XP12 which I still think is overkill on a standard car.
I can always work my way up if it is not enough, but whilst running Hankook RS4's I don't think it will require anymore bite.
