Tyres for Standard NA8 rims

Postby Odd » Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:42 pm

Looking for a quality 185/60/R14 tyre.....

I would like good wet weather grip....not interested in semi-slicks

I know the range is limited, but I want to keep standard light weight wheels

Not interested is going to 15's

Any suggestions?

Hmm, we're in the same boat. I had a quick look on Bob Janes website.

There really seems to be no notable options.

I have bob jane all rounders atm which aren't very impressive.

The $59 tyres I got from Tempe a while back provided a more grip but wore twice as fast.

To put it another way, there doesn't seem to be any options I'd feel comfortable putting on the car if my Mum drove it.

I'd consider moving up to 15s from a safety point of view if nothing else.

I was in the same boat. I got some Bridgestone Turanza T001 185/60R14 82H (~$100 ea). Wanted some Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003's but don't have them in 14". They suggested the T001's instead. I have surprisingly found them great in the wet and dry. Very predictable. Had them for about 25k kms and still have plenty of thread to go.

Just get them in the 4 for 3 sale that is on now.
