Hi
I wish to lower the rear of my SE without increasing the spring rate. If someone has done this would you mind giving me some info.
As I understand it the SE uses a heavier spring rate and sits 13mm lower STD.
Cheers
Steven

SEs sit ~7mm lower than other NBs.

Lowering the car is usually done via springs or coilovers and most do it when they get rid of the 17" Racing Hart "boat anchors" and upgrade to 15 or 16" rims to avoid "The 4WD look".

I helped Crapweasal install his H&R springs on his Bilsteins which made the car sit lower (see http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?style=3&f=57&t=55219&start=37).
The now-defunct, but still readable, mazda-speed.com forum will have more information specific to SEs, so search the site for more info (Crapweasal's choice of H&R springs was based on this site).

Keep in mind that Mazda designed the car for optimal handling with the rear 0.5" higher than the front so you should maintain that difference (949racing specify a 0.25" difference for trackwork) unless all you care about is stance, in which case, do whatever you want to f u c k it up.
