1990 NA6 Brakes - sheared bolt..

Postby Hoho2 » Sun Feb 05, 2017 4:36 pm

My mate and I were trying to fix a binded brake on the rear passenger side wheel. We ended up shearing a bolt as you can see in the pics..

We've basically given up on the car at this point and consider selling/parting it. As the optimistic one, thought I'd ask if there's a way to get around to fixing this?

Is that the caliper mounting bolt? Remove the assembly from the car and use an EZ-out. You may me able to do it in-situ after removing just the caliper.
If you take that bolt to a bolt shop they'll sort you out with the right EZ-out and drill bit.

Fortunately if that fails, NA6 brakes (and diffs) are often upgraded and there's an abundance of cheap used parts available.
[b]Then: Sunlight Silver NB8B
Now: Chaste White NA8
