Any one yet to put 17" 6ul's on an nb.
Just curious to see if any one knows or has seen any one run 17"6ul nd wheels on a nb, have had a look on google but arnt able to find any thing. I'm a very big fan of the 6uls but I find 15's look a little too small on nb's. Now that theres a distributor again in aus I thought why not.

I heard Lokiel was a foundation purchaser of two sets. He always said 17" was the best wheel for a SE if only he could find something lighter then the already feather weight racing harts.

17" 6ULs don't come in 4x100 stud pattern. Emilio doesn't believe NA/NBs need 17" rims and neither does anyone with common sense, especially me.
I did sarcastically chuckle at the previous 2 posts.

They made them for the ND.
As long as the offset is sensible, and I'm pretty sure it is, theyll fit fine.

+45mm offset is not sensible... Not for an NA/NB...

Whoops, I'm woefully out of date (17" 6ULs were originally for NCs).
zossy1 pointed out that the 17" 6ULs are offset +45mm - the 17x7 MSM/SE Racing Hart "boat anchors" have a +40 offset.

I assumed they were +38 like the 15x8's.

A 5mm offset difference is hardly going to cause issues.

Agree! Wheels that crack might though.Any assurances that they are better than the earlier ones that had issues?I couldn't get that assurance (no response)so didn't go there.Would be nice to have some statement from manufacturer and agents.

Unfortunately the combination of a 5mm lesser offset with a 1" or 2" wider rim (NB = 6.5" or 7" for the SE, 6UL = 8" or 9") mean that they don't fit in a NB wheel arch without rubbing.
Remember that the SE had a 0.5" wider rim with the same offset and rolling diameter as the standard 16" rim but needed to have a reduced turning radius in the steering rack from the factory to prevent issues.
The 17" 6UL would need an offset of ~30 (even less for the 9" version) to be an ok fit........

+45mm will fit NA/NB in 17x8, but only if:
1. You are running coilovers with 2.5" or smaller Spring diameter; and
2. You remove plastic inner guard; and
3. You limit tyre size to 205/40/17.
Alternatively you can run extended studs and a spacer.
17x9 in +45mm won't fit NA/NB without some more drastic mods.
But... Why would you?
