So what are the goto shock absorbers for the first gen NC's road cars? (not track cars).
Is it worth changing the springs while I'm at it?

if you are still after a stock ride with stock springs you can't go past Tokiko HTS. They are an awesome shock and will last a LOT longer than the shitty OEM units.
