Federal 595 RS-RR

I was just about to order some new tires, Federal 595 RS-R in 205/50/15, only to find out today that the RS-R is no longer available.

It is being replaced by the 595 RS-RR.
In my searches I have not been able to find a lot of information about the relative performance of this tire compared to the RS-R as it seems it is only recently released.

Can anyone give me any feedback on this new tire?
Price is only a fraction more so still good value if the performance is there.
My car is only used on weekends and track days so not worried about the wear rate but want a tire with good performance.

also got them fitted for $170 a corner, so pretty cheap as well

the price is ok @$135 per tire supplied but not fitted.

I don't know if I like the idea of them being noisy in a convertible. :?

Aren't all of that sort of tyre noisy?
That's a good price, I paid a bit less for my re003s a few months ago but the 595rsrr is a league above I suppose.

I couldn't buy them because the tread pattern looks like an early 2000's tribal tattoo.

Damn didn't know it was replacing the RS-R entirely. I don't think that RS-R is a very noisy tyre at all so I'll be a bit disappointed if the RS-RR is.

I have just put a set of these on my SE in 215/40/17. Have been using them for about 4 weeks. My initial thoughts are they're very good in the dry and good in the wet.
I've used the RSR previously and I've found these to be a huge improvement.
As for road noise, they're not quiet. Probably between toyo r888 and yokohama A050.
That said I love these and would recommend them for street/occasional track.

Interested to know how these compare against re003's and their expected wear rate

I have the wheels and tires ready to fit but not on the car yet. Will fit them Sunday when I return from OS. Then time for a drive.

I think the federal are 140 tread wear rating whilst the re003 is 220 or there abouts. Big difference, but I suppose the shorter life pays off in extra grip.

Had mine on now for a while and I'm very happy with them. Very predictable. Not the quietest but not the loudest either. I've never used the re003 so can't really compare.
