Advanti Storm S1 wheels

I really love the Advanti Storm S1 Wheels - in black. However, I am struggling to find any in Australia. MX5 Parts don't have them currently and I can't find them elsewhere. Some places have the Storm (flat spoke) but not the S1. I want them in 15x7. Any ideas or should I just bite the bullet and go to Tirerack?

Cookie may be able to help direct you to a supplier. He recently stirred a little envy in me after showing me his 15/9 set of Advanti s1 storm rims. His build thread 'Cookie's na6' has a pic or two of the wheels.

I've flicked an email off to Tire Rack to see how much shipping is so I guess I'll find out in a couple of days.

I got a quote a few weeks ago for 15x9.

" Thanks for your inquiry.

The total amount for four wheels shipped to Australia is $823.92. The total amount does not include the customs, duties, and brokerage fees that will incur on this order."

So ~$1250 AUD?

Google tells me currently

" 825 US Dollar equals
1148.00 Australian Dollar"

No one in Aus i could find could get anywhere near that.

Also being the wheels are under $1000Aud you pay zero tax/customs etc.

Ah yeah, I use xe.com for better or worse, that gave me 1250.

I was under the impression that the shipping charge was included in the 1000aud tax threshold.
I could be mistaken, and would be super happy to be proven wrong.

You are right, Clearance value is considered as value of goods plus freight.

Wrong.

I have never paid duty for good valued less than $1000aud.
Orders including shipping totaling over $1400AUD.

I have no idea why everyone has so much trouble with this.
It is clearly stated on GOV Websites.

Probably because we (me included) are confusing what the GST is calculated on when goods are imported and they have a value over $1000.

As per the point above your highlighted one. :D

Sorry Magpie - I called you Speed Racer - duh!

After a continued search within Aust, I did no good with finding the wheels. Contacted Tire Rack - 4x Black Storm S1 15x7 delivered to my door for $1119AUD. That was good enough for me and money has been transferred. Let's see how long it takes for them to get here.

Thanks to the forum for their advice. Next - back to sorting the brakes out and which tyres I will put on the S1s. At the moment the leader is the Yoko A08s 195/50.

Cheers all,

Good tyre choice, however you could look at Federal 595 RSR's.
