TEIN SUPER STREETS.

Postby taminga16 » Sun Aug 23, 2015 8:46 pm

I am looking for some advice on the pre-load settings for a four corner Tein Super Street set up. We installed them into an NC today and the ride is harsh.
Thanks. Greg.

Assuming linear springs, preload shouldn't affect ride comfort until you bottom them out. Try dampers.

Greg,

I posted this on the Flex. Should be similar for you with the Superstreets.

I also fitted FatCat bumpstops which improved the ride.

The big mistake most people make, besides not having the correct preload, is not having the dampers hard enough and you feel harshness from hitting the bumpstops.

Alluded to in CB's thread, but keep in mind that if the Teins were made for the JDM then they will have a heavier spring & foot vale than Teins from Fulcrum in QLD for the ADM. According to Fulcrum, QEM & QSM identifies the shock as ADM spec, whereas GAM or GSM identifies the shock as JDM spec. The 2nd half of the model number on the lower shock body shows this identifier.

Thank you all, I will not be able to get under the car for a few weeks and will let you know how I get on then.
Greg.
