Hi folks,
I have this clicking / creaking noise after installing a set of Tein street flex coilovers around a month ago. This only happens at the front left passenger side corner.
I can hear only the noise when going at slow speed, escpecially when reversing down the driveway into the garage at a slight turn.
Over the weekend, i took off the wheels, re torqued the control arms bolts the proper way, put the car on the ground and tightened them, but the noise is still there.
I havent got a chance to do wheel allignemnt after the coilover install, I thought i need to solve this first before doing it.
I dont understand much about preload springs etc, the coilovers were installed the way they came in the box, so I just took them out and put on the car with whatever settings it was.
Any idea what this could be? Any input will be appreciated
Thanks
Rob

I would suspect this to be control arm bush or bush of some kind. Or possibly sway bar links?

Or it could be the dreaded 'Tein rattling', which I get.
If they're a new set, there should be no noises. But if there's a few kays on them, the springs move a little and it sounds like your wheel will fall off.

Re: Clicking / creaking noise after Tein install
Are you sure it's from the Tein shock?
It could be your lower balljoint? By chance maybe.
Another option is to swap the two front coilovers over and see if the sound changes sides.
If this happens then you know it's the coilover.
questions are?
What car have you got?
How long have you had it for?
If not long has it been well maintained?

Re: Clicking / creaking noise after Tein install
My car is an NC1 2007 model, the tein coilovers are brand new.
When I hear this noise, a lot of times theres also a clunking sound and I can sort of feel something kinda move a bit too.
There was no noise at all with stock suspension on.
I will try some suggestions here when I can get hold of some tools, my mate actually helped install the coilovers in the first place.
I read some about preload springs and think it maybe loose from the 'movement' felt with the noise?
But once the car is on the ground, wont the springs get compressed from the car weight, ie wont move around?
