No pics, but

4x 949 alloy, 68g
16x 949 alloy. 290g

Yes, I know the maths are off, but the 68g is without the cap at the end, and some of the others have caps.
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

does it matter ?

Postby oztrackdays » Sat Jul 26, 2014 6:26 pm

I was told to consider a 10 kg reduction in weight the same as adding 3 rwkw this was for
the purposes of the 1/4 Mile ET estimator.

so if 1000 g = .3 of 1 kw

my nasty steel wheel nuts are costing me maybe .1 of a kw and
they come off so quick with the rattle gun I am happy enough with that ;)

Great post Magpie.

I'm looking to switch to lighter nuts soon.. But the Mrs keeps on putting it off though so I'm stuck with heavy nuts for now

you have to remember though that the weight you are referring to suffers from spinning inertia or "centrifugal force" and differs from static weight in your vehicle

They ALL come off quick with the rattle gun

Decent alloy nuts will handle a rattle gun, mine have for I don't know how many years now. Rattle them off, but only rattle them up to firm, I finish them with a torque wrench.

Ebay nuts may give different mileage though.

... and to think that I wasted that money on some spare nuts 'just in case' :frown:
