Ticking noise from rear left wheel

Hi all,
I have a ticking noise coming from my rear left wheel. It is definitely coming from the wheel area, as the frequency changes with speed.
I've checked the tire, it isn't a stone hidden somewhere.
Is there a common cause(s) of this noise by any chance?
Thanks heaps in advance.

It could be a wheel bearing.
When a front wheel bearing went on my car it made a ticking noise, but in that case it was also accompanied by a rumbling under load, ie turning left at speed, loading the front right wheel bearing.

Check for a worn, stuck or loose brake pad.

Had this exact problem, same noise whether acceleration or decelerating, turned out to be a wheel bearing.
Easy to replace if you have a press and bearing puller kit, but hard if you dont.
Cheers,
Ken.
