Dampers (Shock Absorbers)

Going over some old topics on the BC Coilovers and doing some research on bump stops etc to improve the suspension on my NA I can across a good article regarding setting up dampers and how to set them up http://www.formulastudent.de/academy/pats-corner/advice-details/article/dampers-shock-absorbers/. The table on page 2 provides a good explanation on what does what.
Getting the suspension set up is a frustrating process as there is so much information and miss-information out there plus heaps of personal opinion and little scientific data. However the good thing is that you learn more about what making changes does. So far I have learnt how to corner weight a car, adjusting heights, camber, castor, toe, bump stops, packers, spring rates, sway bars and more importantly why and how it changes the cars handling. Now I have to get some confidence in doing my own wheel alignment changes (and an excuse to buy more tools).
