Yellowspeed coilover settings, NA6 (competition spec)

Hey guys.

Im currently running a NA6 with full polybushes, signature swaybars and 949 racing links, some underbody bracing and bolt in full roll cage.

Its a soft top model.

Any recommended settings for stiffness?

Currently at 24 clicks up front and 26 back. Very stiff as it is now and tail happy. Find myself skipping over bumps while turning etc on rougher roads.

I have 24 front 20 rear. A general rule depending on the weight distrubution of the car is to have the rear slightly softer.

Hopefully this fixes your cars tail happy tendancies.

If it was me I would reduce both the front and rear settings. I would also make the rear setting softer that the front, especially if you are running a larger rear sway bar than standard.

I also found when I mounted my Yellospeeds (2nd hand) that the ride height was not set too well and the rear end was hitting the bump stops too often.

Will be trying that out. Yeah, prety much if i enter any corner in 2nd gear with decent throttle, it will oversteer although it is quite controllable.

Bar one case yesterday, oversteered and spun out at roundabout, smashed lip into road island :(

BTW I have the 12kg/12kg premium competition model, if that means anything.

Thats why I have a rubber lip! (Not really it just came with the car when I bought it haha)

Yeah I have the polyurethane GV lip so all is good. Just need to tighthen the screws with a drill again.

Tried the setting, seems to have prety much eliminated oversteer, although the rear end doesnt feel as planted anymore so goin to up the rear stiffness one or two.

There are only 576 POSSIBLE combinations of settings.

If you leave out stupid setting like 0 on the front and 24 on the back and vice versa you end up with only about 100 realistoc settings.

I imagine you can come up with a strategy from there to decided what of those setting you like with trial and error.

Your sways will have a huge influence here too, they are non adjutsable I think but are they extra beefy, set the same front and rear?

Yeah their quite beefy..I think I'll try that cause as it feels nows, the rear end feels quite a bit softer and walllowy then the front. That's with 24/21

Updating this, I got an Icehawk allignment albeit less caster and not as precise toe as required.

Car handles amazing for now, much more grip and stability throughout cornering.

I had left the coilovers at 24/21 for a while and was suffering from a choppy/brash ride and a looser rear end.

Just today set it back to 24/24. Amazing difference in ride quality and damping, car feels solid now. And rear end is much more planted, albeit requiring stiffer diff bushes.
