still a 8kg/6kg spring combo like all cheapies out there.

the manufacturer stickers on it look dead on the same as the BC coilover ones that i have on my car. the little white one with car/engine/year on it.

I've also read that the Pedders coilovers are made in the same factory (supposedly made in Taiwan, manufactured in China) as BC. Not sure if true or not, but doesn't make them a bad product. BC's have a great reputation for reliability and I've always found Pedders products reliable as well. The extra cost of the Pedders coilover to an identical set of BC's could be offset in one's mind by the convenience and ability to use any Pedders workshop for quick repairs/warranty/advice. Not so convenient with a faulty BC coilover.

I see many people knocking Pedders, just like many of the "franchise" style workshops, but I have used them many times over my years on a lot of different styles of cars and I have never had a problem. Always found them willing to spend time listening to what I want and working out the best way to get a good result. For any type of service, there has to be a cost factor.

Plus their $14 suspension checkup is an absolute bargain for working out your suspension woes!! A service I've often used, then gone and fixed the problems myself :P

I have them in my NB8B. I installed them myself using the long bolt bolt method. I then called the local Pedders store purely to book an alignment as it hadn't been done in a while and they were great to deal with. Offered to check the preload and height adjustments to ensure that I had done everything right.

They ride really well and with plenty of adjustment can find a happy medium between ride and handling. Quality is great and I'm very happy with them.

That money could get you some very good proven setups like FCMs or FM Stage 2.5s and a bit left over

Could even use the FM kit as a guide but put some adjustment in to it: Tokico Illuminas, Ground Control coilover kit, FCM top mount kit with FCM Bump Stops and Whiteline Sway Bars. Utilises quality products, easy to replace any individual parts and gives height adjustment over the FM kit. Even utilises some local product. Haven't costed it, just thought of it when I read the comment :)

Everyone seems to be searching for the Holy Grail of MX5 Suspension. Most (me included) go through various configurations before settling (for a while) on something and its still usually a compromise.

If only I'd taken more notice of Shaik .....

But hey... that's why they are so much fun .... we'd get bored otherwise :D

I have had them in my NB8A for nearly 2 years now and have never had an issue. Great product with a great ride.
