Bridgestone RE001 price?

Postby aka_juffa » Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:32 am

I know a few of you have purchased Bridgestone RE001 tyres in the past few months. I'm wanting to understand what is a reasonable price to pay?

Size 185/60/14

Have just been quoted $110 per tyre x 4

As an FYI, Bridgstone still have 220 of the RE001 in the 14 inch size in stock.

I think Novice1 bought a set of 15" for $130 each; RE002 in 15" can be had for $145 so $110 for a superceded 14" tyre is a bit much IMO.

If you really like 'em, and if you envisage the odd track day, why not ask them for a deal on how much discount if you buy, say, 12 tyres? Or get a GB together.

I'm still wishing Bridgestone revisit their G-Grid formula as the old Potenza GIII was a fantastic tyre that I rate over the RE001.

$110 is a good price. They often do deals with bonus fuel cards, and give discounts for NRMA/RACV/etc members. Make sure you ask for the manufacture date.

Bridgestone Select dealer in Frankston.

I was asked if I was a RACV member.....yes...good for a $5 discount.

Thanks Guran.

I thought the price sounded reasonable. Will ask what the manuracture date is. I believe the current Bridgestone Coles Myer gift card applies to these tyres.....but am going to double check.

I've just fitted RE001 @ Liverpool Bridgestone; 185/60/14 was quoted $99 incl NRMA member discount.
Apparently there are about 300 remaining in the warehouse and they aren't to old at all, mine were made on the 38th week 2012.

Where are they made!!!! I ordered four RE002 and they're "Made in Thailand" and Bridgestone still charges the "Japan made" price, back they went!
I'm running Kumho KU31 now, they seem to be good.
