Hi guys,

Putting in my new coilovers today and all was going well until I go to put in the front LH coilover. It looks like the LCA boss where the strut bolts into is on the wrong angle. The LH LCA has 4 holes on the bottom and the RH LCA has 3 holes on the botom. So I guess im going to have to source the right one since someone's done a dodgy. Could someone please tell me which year/model the control arm is currently fitted?

Thanks for your help guys,

Ash.

Im guessing different year model control arm. But that wont make any difference, just rotate your shock absorber.

That doesnt work. The strut sits on the same angle and I cant even get the long bolt back in. Looks like this.

I guess its just Fubar'd and I guess ill have to source a new one.

EDIT: The bush on the bottom of the strut is very very stiff and doesnt have enough deflection to try get it in from that position.

Just saw pictures, you should consider replacing tie rod end rubber before it wears out.

Yeah that boot has partially split. Only noticed today so I'll get some tomorrow from somewhere. Thanks for noticing though

Does anyone know if LCA's from a different model mazda fit? Looking at the photo's, if you compare the first photo from the left LCA to the photo of the right LCA you can see the left one looks like its been twisted towards the rear of the car. Both the LCA's have been replaces from a local mazda wrecker which raises my suspicions about an accident and how straight the car is. Will measure it on the weekend.
