Hey guys, looking for reccomendations on upgraded brake pads front and rear for an NA6 - std size brakes.
I have searched but all the results are a few years old now so after some current info on what everyione runs and likes!
Car is a daily street driver with basic bolt ons, but will see the occasional mountain pass flogging and trackday.
I was thinking Hawk ceramics or similar?

Cheers

Tim

thanks Dann, but the 50+ threads seem to agree the HP+ are awesome on the track but on the street are noisy, dont work real well when cold and dusty too!

I am after something a little more street orientated as my GF will be dailying it and I will be thrashing its ass on the weekends!

Hawk Ceramics are less dusty than HP+ but still make a mess.

HAWk HPS would be what i would recommend for a street car if minimal noise and dust is a concern.

GOMIATA do them pretty cheap delivered.

Stops hard, quiet, no dust.

Pick 2.

I might point out that when people say that these pads dont work well on the street they are comparing them to other high end street pads.

Hawk Blue pads are incredible track pads, you just cannot overheat them, and on the street they are dusty as hell and squeel like crazy, but guess what, even cold on the street they still pull up far better than any oem replacement pads ever will.

All Im saying is that brake pads are a compromise. If it were me and my GF were driving the car, and I was concerned for her, Id get whatever pads stop hard, not the least dusty ones.

i like QFM A1RM pads.

they are cheap, quiet, stop well and have a pretty high heat threshold if you ever want to do a track day or two.

cheers Dweezle - dust isnt really a big concern to me - I ran a fair range of pretty serious pads on my old 180SX in its various stages of evolution. I just dont know what works in these little Mazda's!
More concerned about working from first application for the GF and coping with hard driving with a nice pedal when I drive. Would you still reccomend the HPS over the ceramics in that case?

If money isn't an issue, Endless MX72 are by far the best pads for street and track i have ever used.

If you're getting the Hawks, have a look for them on Amazon. I ordered a set of HP+ from them last week. Shipped Friday, arrived on my desk on Tuesday morning, for less than half of what I would have paid in Australia (including shipping).

thanks for your input guys - should have mentioned in the first post to say where you get your pads from too. It will make this thread a good resource for future searchers.

Dann, everything is a compromise when you modify a car. Thats why I'm asking people to post what they found to be the best compromise for them!

qfm hpx or a1rm if you're going to see the track occasionally.

Gsl RallySport/BrakesDirect. IIRC, $80 and $119 /pair respectively.
