YSR coilover set ride height.

Postby Schnapper » Sat Aug 11, 2012 11:58 am

Hey all,
Just about to install the pro sports into my NB8A, is there a good measurement to begin with front and rear? (I'm assuming the measurement is from collar to collar)

Seems like a bit of a pain to adjust heights later?

Thanks all
Nicholas.

I'm going from memory here, but when I adjusted my height about a month ago I think it was 60-65mm front and 65-70mm rear collar to collar, and that gave a ride height of about around 310/315mm front and rear.

Adjustment isn't that hard. The only time consuming part is jacking the car and taking the wheel on and off to check the height. If you can do that quickly the adjustment itself doesn't take long. Just make sure you clean the thread really well before moving the collars. You don't want to get any dirt in there when things are moving.

Got them in at 63 and 58mm rear/front. Will have to play with heights. Can drop the front and rear but the front more so.
Got them sitting at 19 front, 16 rear..... feels alright but needs an alignment!

yea a set got put on today, though the recommended settings from mania 45mm seem abit too low scraped the bacl over local bump..........so brought them all up to 52mm but still reckon the back needs a little more?

What do you reckon?

Schapper; did you have any issues with shock body ride height adjuster hitting the upper controller arm?

I raised about an inch from the height Mania installed at. I was scraping on nearly everything at the original height.

so ride height is user dependent i guess though i measured from ground up of stock suspension F610mm-R640mm so is it better to keep that ratio for handling when its lowered?

ok thought i would post my findings to possibly help others in setting up there YSR coilies on their NB ( not sure how differs for NA)

so mania says to run 45mm between the collars, i think this is too low for out in the wild.

after researching people seem to think running the rear 0.5 inch higher than the front is the way to go(this makes the car look level otherwise back looks a little lower, which some people like). and that the <=12 inch for track and 12=> inch for the street or dual purpose.

so i ended up running 12.5 F and 13 R, so ~50mm F and ~55mm R - between the collars

so pretty much running the height a difference of 5mm between the collars allows for this and a rake 1.04 (stock is more like 1.05)

*note all measurements are hub to guard*
